Sorry for the delay, but I have a phase test at Narayana on Sunday. So I'm quite busy preparing for it. No time to spare.
We (Chinmay and me) won the Science Symposium at St. Xaviers, Rajniwas Marg (24th July, 2007). Was easy, a piece of cake. Those bastards gave us a trophy bigger than my butt, but my school guys kept it. F**k the school guys. And the St. Xaviers guys didn't even give me a certificate. Great, now I don't even have a proof that I won. Wait, they have a photograph of me holding that 'larger than life' trophy. I'll catch hold of it. I'll write more about the symposium in my next post, it's a long story. If you guys wanna check out the presentation, it's here -
Plasma Research (Future Energy Resurrection)
I was down with fever on the same day as the I won the symposium. But now I'm fine. I still have a sore throat and a bit of a cold.
Currently listening to 'Take Me Away' from the movie "Freaky Friday". (It's a cool song, actually. I can relate to it, and as Tess Coleman rightly said, this is definitely not noise)

I Hate the "Itna Mat Padha Kar" Guys
This post is dedicated to Yuyutsu.
I hate the guys at Narayana and School, who keep bugging me with stupid phrases like, "Kitna padhta hai din mein aaj kal?" or "Kam padha kar yaar" or "Main jaanta hoon tu khelte hue bhi padhta hai". I mean come on guys, get a life. I DO NOT study at all, I hardly sit down to study for 15 mins a day. If you think I'm still lying, then go bang your head on a wall and cry in front of your shit pot.
Here is my secret to getting an above average score at school/Narayana without sweating too much -
1) I listen in class, very seriously. I take each class as if I am going to be tested on it tomorrow. If I miss something at class, I make a point to cover it up on my own or ask a friend for help.
2) If I'm unable to understand anything, I ask the teacher, repeatedly, until I am satisfied. I do not care whether my query is related to my syllabus or not, I believe in understanding of a concept. Though this may seem obvious to some of you, but I have seen a major number of students refraining from asking the teacher, just beacuse they think it will make them look foolish, or they are afraid of the teacher.
3) I do not cram, even if I am short of time. I understand a concept and try to remember it in my own language. If CBSE doesn't give me credit for it, then I don't give a f**kin damn.
4) I always question myself about the not-so-obvious applications of concepts that I know. For example, if I get to know a formula to calculate the position of an object moving at uniform velocity, I'd like to know why it can't be used to calculate the position of an object moving with some accelration. This again may seem obvious, but I've seen guys who don't care to think.
5) I study hard on the day before the exam.
6) I have a better retaining and analysing power than most of my peers.
7) I do not study for 16 hours a day.

Saturday Woes : Harry Phutter
I was forced to watch the movie by The Uncool Shitty and Irfan. It's not that I didn't protest, but changing a decision made collectively by those two guys is tough.
First, I reach M2K at 10:30 am, only to know that the 11 'o' clock show is house fuckin full. Then, we buy tickets for the 1 'o' clock show and decide to kill time at IrfLord's house. He tried to study (Calculus to be precise, we had a Maths paper the following day) but we didn't allow him to. The best part at his house was "Vidya ma'am ke haath ki maggi", followed by an extra strong, hair-raising cup of coffee. The snack was fine, but it kinda feels strange, you know, your teacher at school, with whom you share such a formal kinda relationship, you see her cooking for you just like any other normal mother. Anyway, we were late for the movie (owing to Starship Titanic) by 10 minutes or so.
I got bored in the first 15 minutes. First of all, I haven't watched any of the previous HP movies, I don't like fantasy stories that much. I could just get a vague idea of the separation of the positive and negative characters in the film, and about some of the so called HP lingo and conventions. I found out that the Dumbledick guy is some kinda father figure, who sticks his ass in every darn place he can. There is a gay, dark lord, the 'you know who' guy called Volderfart, and yes, there is a babe - a Chinese one. Here role was too short, so I don't remember her name. Bon Measly (quite a suitable name) was busy finger-banging the chics, so you don't see much of him either. The Her-meany girl sucked too, she had put on rags in most of the scenes. Overall, the movie wasn't progressing at all, it seemed to beating around a single idea. Boring and banal, in short that is.
I've heard that J.K. Growling has decided to kill off that little bastard in her last book. Good riddance.
We came back to Irfan's house, and I was treated with an omlette by the great Vidya ma'am again. We watched a crap parody movie (it was called Epic Movie, I think so), and were then forced to leave by Irfan (He was going to be slaughtered by his mom for skipping his Physics tuition).

Obesity
I don't know if I'm overweight or obese, but one thing that I know for sure is that I need to shed some of the extra kilos. I can see my waist line increasing actively, and this is primarily because of long periods of inactivity. I don't remember when I last indulged in a physical activity seriously, maybe it was when I was in eighth standard, I used to play basketball. We do have PT periods at school, and I do play volleyball ocassionally, but generally I try to find excuses for bunking the period, or just sitting around.
I was watching this discussion on NDTV yesterday, about Indians being obsessed with weight and fitness. We had Pooja Bhatt, and some other famous people, all of whom had the opinion that flexibilty and self confidence are the only two things that matter. After that it depends on how you want to look yourself, and how health conscious you are. Everybody agreed that obesity leads to health problems, and we have to shift focus towards remaining 'fit' and not becoming 'skinny'.
When I pondered upon my lack of activity, I found that the basic reason behind it is company, and inclination towards computers. I spend a major amount of my time on my PC, and not in anything much useful. My friends circle too, comprises of people who are not so interested in physical activity.
Looking at the mirror yesterday, I finally decided that I need to do something about my physique. I started with some Yoga and a morning walk today, and I'll go for jogging tomorrow. I think I can continue, this time I'm high on will power. But maybe I'll have to give up the yoga, considering my tight time schedule.
UPDATE: Wikipedia says obesity was a status symbol in the 17th century. If you're fat, that means you have the money to eat delicious food.

Dragonball Manga
I loved watching this popular anime series, when I was a kid. Back then, I watched it on Cartoon Network, in Hindi (thinking of which makes me sick even today, anime in Hindi sucks), and used to follow all the episodes. Akira Toriyama, the creator of the whole Dragonball Manga, was one hell of a guy. He knew exactly what the young generation wanted, and he cleverly manages to extend a single scene for 3 episodes, without getting his audience bored. Anyway, I finally have manged to get a link to the whole series. Searching for "free download dragonball z episodes small" on Google, and getting worthwhile links wasn't so easy. For others, who still haven't found links -
http://dbz-media.nl/en/main.php?page=media2
http://www.dbzhevan.net/main.php?id=news/news.php
These sites, though have all the episodes, but a majority of them are hosted on rapidshare.de, not rapidshare.com. Rapidshare.de still has the time limit for non-premium users, which can be irritating. So to download these episodes, either you should have infinite patience, or a rapidshare.de premium account. Then there is always another option, buy the episodes on DVD, you'll get 'em on eBay, or you have torrents too.
I've managed to get episodes of DBZ till Babidi Saga, thanks to Sneezy Melon, and I've downloaded Dragonball GT myself. This thing is so addictive, once you start watching a saga, you can't stop before ending it (and having all the episodes at once highly fuels the craze). Here is my favorite screen from the cartoon -
